Courtney Routson was born in Phoenix, Arizona and has lived in the Prescott Community for the past 36 years. She began her medical career as a nursing assistant, while working towards her goal of becoming a nurse. She has 12 years of nursing experience including Intensive Care, Hospice and Case Management. She obtained her Masters in Family Psychiatric Nurse Practice and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2021 from Arizona State University.

She began her Career at Polara Health in Prescott and became the Outpatient Medical Director where she implemented suicide prevention training, enhanced the medical group through team-based care and oversaw court order treatment patients. She is also the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Campus.

She has a passion for integrating psychiatric care with holistic evidence-based therapies. She believes each person is unique and deserves customized treatment to meet their definition of health and happiness. This passion for integrative care was enforced with her Doctoral project combining class-based exercise and mindfulness sessions as a tool to reduce return to substance use after residential substance use treatment.

She has experience treating psychotic disorders, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, substance use, dependence and recovery, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and autism spectrum disorders. She is certified to provide suboxone and clozapine therapies.

Courtney Routson is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She works with patients over age 6, adolescents, and adults.
